Q & A's
What are the turnout facilities like ? In the summer months small group turnout or individual turnout is avaliable 24/7 depending on your horse requirments. In the winter months we restrict turnout to 12hrs per horse and mares / geldings are split into 2 winter fields, both of which have a hard standing area. We also offer a 50' round pen which is avaliable for turnout during the day in winter months for those horses who may suffer from mud alergies.
How are the paddocks fenced ? The are fenced using Tornado Lightnight Mains Powered electric fencing with wooden posts.
How many horses are at home farm ? we are a relativly small livery yard with a total of just 17 stables & 4 barn livery runs.
Do you offer tack / equipment storage ? Yes we do, although all property left at the premisses is done at your own risk, our tack room is situated opposite our dog kennel and in close proximity to our dwelling. Clients do tend to take equipment of any value home.
What other facilities do you have ? Toliet, Tea/Coffee Fridge area, Trailer / Horsebox storage.
Is there any off road hacking ? We are situated off a private drive which is very useful for a good leg strech in the winter months when light is getting limited..
Is there any additional cost for use of any facilities ? No we include the use of all of our facilities in the price of our livery. Additional cost will be incurred for solerium /clinincs / courses / haylage or shavings ect.
Are children welcome ? We do not offer livery for clients under the age of 18, a few of our clients have children who we welcome to visit as long as they are well behaved !.
What is the hacking like locally ? Very good, in fact in 2009 we ran a BHS West Midlands Trec Comp, we are in warwickshire so hacking consists of farmland and country lanes, we are close to several good bridleway routes that link up offering a good amount of off road and quite village hacking. We keep a copy of the O/S map handy in the tack room for clients to borrow.
Who runs the yard and overlooks the welfare of the horses ? Owner Luci Mac who has over 25 years experince in owning horses, compeating in eventing & BSJA show jumping, further to this she holds a Higher National Certificate in Equine Business Management, and the BHSAI Certificate, Luci is also a PNH student.
